Graniterock knows a thing or two about sustainability.

Recognizing that their reliance on utility power was becoming increasingly costly and that supporting a fossil fuel driven energy economy was inherently unsustainable, they decided to take action, but were unsure how to get the most impact.

We worked together to identify the most economic and highest impact opportunities to reduce their utility energy needs and generate clean power on site. Following our recommendations, they chose to pursue a complete full Zero Net Electric retrofit of their Watsonville Headquarters.

  • New Solar +

The non-penetrating ballasted solar installation retains the roof membrane integrity and allows for a simple and efficient installation.

  • Additional Upgrades

New interior efficiencies saved money and improved working conditions through better interior lighting, customizable heating, and a heat and UV blocking window film.

  • Minimal Employee Disruption

Careful logistical planning and coordination minimized disruption in a fully occupied office space containing over 200 employees.

Working with Mynt we realized we could transform our corporate headquarters office in Watsonville, CA into a showcase of our values in a way that didn’t break the bank and also made it a more comfortable place to work. Mynt’s solution is reducing our energy consumption from the grid about 90% and paying for itself through lower utility bills.
